Clean and clear basswood carving blanks are perfect for getting started with carving or whittling.
Also known as limewood or Linden, basswood is prized as the best wood to start carving. It’s a clear color, and even texture allows you to focus on your design without the color or changing grain density getting in the way. It’s also relatively soft, so you don’t need a lot of strength to make the cuts, but it’s hard enough to hold details well.
Prepared from locally sourced, air-dried timber, each board is milled and sanded on all 4 sides and ready for you to get started.
